Akala of the Hip-Hop Shakespeare Company
Live at Rich Mix, Lyrix Organix and the Hip-Hop Shakespeare Company got together, hosted by Akala and featuring many musicians including legendary Ty, to raise money for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and entertain the masses.
The Hip-Hop Shakespeare Company try to show the blending similarities between hip-hop and the prose and poetry of beloved writers of the historical past, most famous perhaps, being Shakespeare. It is a way to engage the community, to encourage an interest in spoken word and literature in general, and to help remove some of the negative imagery associated with hip-hop as a culture, and body.
Lyrix Organix is an organisation who promote and arrange collaborative charitable live music and poetry events.
